I’ve done all this and tried to remove it and it won’t let me. I can’t download apps. What should I do?

I purchased Visa gift cards. I also have pay as you go carts and I use them for all my online transactions and for my phone for any apps that way if it’s hacked, it’s a small amount of money and I don’t have to stress about somebody having access to a credit card that has tens of thousands of dollars available. It will help me sleep at night. I hope it helps you. They have from $25 up to 500 on prepaid Visa’s gift cards and a pay is ago. I think you can even put more on there and keep refilling it. This has prevented a lot of charges that I never authorized. I did not have to close my account or report fraud or cut up my card. It really has save me from an unauthorized, even fraudulent charges.

I think your previous question provides the answer when you ask "How come I stop App Store payment". If you owe money for a previous purchase, then you will not be allowed to use the App Store until that is resolved. The way you avoid being charged is to not sign up for a subscription or a free trial if you do not intend on cancelling it 24 hours before the trial period ends. This action requires a double click of your side button, so it is not done by accident and you should know exactly what you are doing without being surprised by a charge.

Stopping a payment is done by cancelling a subscription. Deleting the app or not having funds for your payment is not the solution.

I’m having this same issue. Every time I try to download an app that is on my cloud and that is free it keeps prompting me to put in my card information and stating there are no cards in my apple wallet even though I have 3 different cards in my apple wallet. It’s really starting to p*ss me off.

Are the cards in your Apple Wallet valid payment methods? Valid as in they could actually be charged if you chose to purchase something?

Me too why Is that happen?

As state many times in this thread, even though an app may be free to download, most will also have one of these options:

  • Free Trial
  • In-App Purchase
  • Subscription

Developers have to pay every year to have their apps in the store for you to download. The apps also take time and cost money to produce. The options above are used to give you a chance to see if you would like the app. Developers hope you will find it useful and will either continue with the free trial or choose one of the in-app purchases. Without a payment method there is no chance that the developer will ever be able to recoup the money they have spent.

I explained why just a few posts above that the App Store requires a valid payment method because it's required AND because free apps, which yes, are free, also offer in-app purchases. And if a free app offers in-app purchases the ONLY way you can download that free app is if you have a valid payment method. There are VERY few, if any apps which don't offer in-app purchases. App developers, don't make any money off a free app. They make money if you make an in-app purchase and while some developers might be wealthy and not need any money to live on, that's usually not the case. So if you want to download apps, you need a valid payment method on your account. And if you don't want to put a valid payment on your account, then you can't download apps.

Why are you asking anissa46 to do anything? Anissa46 isn't Apple. No one on this user to user only forum is Apple. You don't have to have a credit card on your account if you don't want to. You'll simply HAVE to accept you won't be able to download apps or update apps. That is entirely your decision. If you don't want to abide by the rules of engagement, you don't get to play at all.

You may "wanna [sic] download apps" without having a valid payment method on file, and I may want someone to give me a winning lottery ticket worth $1 billion USD.

But as others have repeatedly explained, if Apple's requirement is that you have a valid payment method on file to download apps, and you refuse to provide a payment method, you won't be downloading any apps. That may be fair or not, but it's not something that us fellow users have any control over.
