Message has no content

In mail app go to Mailbox in menu bar and scroll down to 'Rebuild'. Depending on mailboxes this can take some time.

The problem is that apple mail struggles with synchronising mail when offline and the index gets corrupted. If this doesn't work then switch to a 3rd party email app.

Go to settings -> Notifications -> Show Previews

then choose what suits you
