Security issue: "Confirm MacBook Pro Password"/Can't log out of iCloud

MacOS is not properly signing me out of iCloud, indicating a security issue.

When I was signed in to iCloud, I would repeatedly get asked to confirm my MacBook Pro Password to continue using iCloud.

I would enter it and then I would just get the pop-up again the next day. I found this annoying, and I don't use iCloud on this work computer, so I just signed out of iCloud via system settings, as evidenced by this next screenshot.

However, it did not stop that pop-up from appearing. Worse yet, when I signed into the apple community website to report the issue, it asked me to confirm my sign in on this computer. It should not have done this, because I am signed out of iCloud on this machine. If I sign out, I would expect iCloud functionality to stop on this computer, including/ESPECIALLY 2FA.

This is a security issue, please address it.

(As an side, I find the "Confirm MacBook Pro Password" popup very annoying - whether I'm signed in or not)

Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support (CA)

If you're already using two-factor authentication with your Apple ID, you can't turn it off.

If you updated to two-factor authentication inadvertently, you can turn it off within two weeks of enrollment.

If you do, your account is less secure and you can't use features that require a higher level of security.

You maybe able to Stop using iCloud but Apple ID too ?

Would suggest reading from this link below on what and how Apple ID is integrated into using Apple Computers and Service

Manage and use your Apple ID - Apple Support (CA)

Your Apple ID is the account you use to access Apple services like the App Store, Apple Music, iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, and more. You can sign in to all Apple services with a single Apple ID and password.

This issue keeps happening and is now worse. There are now 2 pop-ups every day asking for my mac password even though I completely signed out of iCloud and all Apple ID services. If I click one of the pop ups, it brings up a password dialog, but clearly something is wrong because it has "(null)" as my Apple ID.

Is there any way to make my Mac just ignore iCloud and Apple ID altogether? I do not want to use these services.

You need to remove it from the trusted devices list. Whether or not it is signed into iCloud has nothing to do with that.

OK I removed it from my trusted devices, thanks.

I would note that is confusing as when I sign out of something I expect it to be separated from my account - even if there's an extra prompt there. Basically I would expect the inverse of how singing in is the way to add it to trusted devices.

However, this does not address the original issue I was trying to handle, which is that my MacBook continues to ask for my laptop password every day to continue using iCloud, even though I am specifically trying to not use iCloud.

To be clear. I am trying to be signed out of both and any account services from Apple.

I don't want to use iCloud on this computer, and I don't want this computer to be associated with my Apple ID.

I thought I had signed out of all of these, and system preferences indicates as such, yet my computer still prompts me to confirm my password to use iCloud.
