The Prompt "Sign in with Apple ID" appears on the screen of my MacBook Air frequently and at irregular intervals. But it's not my Apple ID, it's my wife's.
How can I get rid of this annoying irritation?

Make sure that your wife has been properly signed out of the iCloud account on the Mac.
Sign out of iCloud on your devices - Apple Support
Sign the computer in to iCloud using your own Apple Account (Apple ID) name and Password.

It's Sequoia 15.3.1.
My wife basically doesn't use this computer. However, it is possible she has used it on occasion for some reason, perhaps when her own iMac was unavailable. If so, she would have logged on under my name, but then accessed her Apple account on it. I will have to check with her and then try following your advice.
