apple id password is accptd in iphone but not in mac book

I am having a mid 2011 mac book . My apple id password is accepted by my iPhone but not my MacBook

iPhone asking for macbook password? My mom recently got a new iphone and when she tries to set up her apple id on it, it asks for my macbooks password. However, every time I enter it, it says that it is incorrect. I'm not really sure what the problem is, as I entered the password on my macbook and it worked.
