Why Apple weather app is inaccurate

The Apple weather app give a wrong and inaccurate information about the weather in my city. So I have to use a 3rd party app to get a right information. Hopefully the Apple company know about it and fix it in a next updates!

Actually, right in the Weather app is the best place to report the inaccuracy where it says "Report an Issue". When you tap on that, you describe the current conditions, and that along with your anonymized location is sent to Apple so they can figure out what data source is currently being used there and better understand the inaccuracy. At least that is the intent so they can get the real time data. That is not going to be possible on the reportaproblem website.

It’s completely frustrating that the Apple weather data has become so unreliable, especially when Weather info is so integrated into Lock Screen, Apple Watch, etc. What’s the point of displaying useless info everywhere? Right now, Apple Weather says it’s 12 degrees warmer outside than all other weather apps (and yes I have Precise Location turned on). Yesterday, all other weather apps and local TV stations predicted heavy rains and storms overnight but Apple weather said just 10% chance for a single hour. Sure enough, we received several hours of heavy rain. What the heck does Apple do with its trillion dollar empire in Cupertino (another irritation is that they always default time zones based on that little town like it’s the center of the universe). I’d switch back to Google Pixel in a heartbeat if I could (but I’m stuck for now).

perfect solution! thank you! we didn't think of that.

apple has a product, they sell it in almost every country and city, but some features don't work for some regions (in this case it works for a few number of people around the globe), but everyone pays the same price + tax. when someone who uses an apple product starts complaining about a feature which does not work, and other apple users say “stop complaining”.

It is true that some features/services will not work in all regions. This is most likely due to local regulations and restrictions due to the region. It would benefit Apple that every service they provide would be available everywhere, but this is not always possible. The price for the iPhone is the same no matter what services are used or available. There is no discount to purchase the phone even if a service is available and the person does not want to use it. This would include:

  • Apple Music
  • Apple Cash due to banking regulations
  • Apple TV
  • Find My
  • Age restrictions vary by region
  • Apple News

The full list of services available by region is here.

But, Mac Jim ID, this thread is not about a media product or something else subject to regulations, but their weather app. We know it's possible to provide accurate weather reports and forecasts via app, because there are other ones out there doing it. To say "it may not work in your area" is kind of like saying the Apple clock may not work in your area. If they're going to provide a weather app, they should support it!

Yeah it’s kinda weird actually. I got a new iPad 10 with the latest software as compared to my iPhone 12 that I never updated software wise or anything. The iPad weather shows its clear and sunny outside while my iPhone shows its Smokey outside with little visibility. And it actually is Smokey outside. I don’t really get it. I refreshed, rebooted and tried everything but didn’t work. It’s disappointing because I expected more from my new iPad rather than my old iPhone that sometimes stops working lol

I'm near you in Chugiak/Peter's Creek. It seems the app on my phone, iPad, and iWatch is now not updating but reporting the same information day after day. It doesn't matter if I change locations on the app. I have been hacking at this for a while last evening and today and am now looking for another app. I have seen this happen in the past. It eventually cleared up last time but is frustrating to go through it again. My experience with Apple is that many of their resident apps are not well supported. If it wasn't that that devices communicate well with others inside the Apple system,
