Storage issue w update

i have an XR, currently with iOS 16.3.1. I’ve been trying to update to 16.4 (and now to 16.5) but my phone says it requires 3.91 gb of storage so it cannot update. My phone claims it is using 122.7 of 128. So I should have over 5gb free. I’ve turned off/on my phone a couple of times, the numbers all stay the same, saying there’s not enough space to update. Any idea what might be going on?

I'm sorry you're having issues updating to the latest iOS update. You can try freeing up some space (if possible) on your devices

I'm not sure if you have available space, it's preventing you from updating. However, I'd try freeing up a little more space and seeing if that helps!
