FindMy is not locating my phone after erasing it.

I lost my iPhone a few weeks ago. I first locked it . I was worried about my data and came to know that if iPhone has iOS15 and more then even after erasing it i can still find its location. See this on

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support

..... I erased my phone remotely and now I can't find its location.

When I locked my phone I was able to track it.. I was able to see its location ..(obviously the thief was not using it continuously but whenever he turned on I got the message).

I had iOS16.3..which should be absolutely trackable. but I can't. this is not visible in FindMy anymore..

.. Can you please find my phone?

... How can I track my phone. I'm really upset about this.

Thank you.

If you erase a device that had iOS 15 or later installed, you can still use Find My to locate the device.

If the phone does not show up, the battery has run down or the phone does not have a connection to the Internet where it is located.

There is nothing else that you can do at this time except keep trying every few hours to see if the status of the phone has changed.

If the phone does not appear after a few days, unfortunately it will likely never appear.

No one can track your phone but you, unless you provide your Apple ID and Password to them.

The phone will not show up in Find My if the battery has run down or the phone does not have an Internet connection where it is currently located.

Nothing you can do about this except keep checking a few times each day to see if the status of the phone has changed.

If no luck after a few days, it might be time to be realistic about things. The chances that you will ever see the phone again are a tiny fraction above zero.

Most lost and stolen phones are sent to China to a huge remanufacturing plant that receives thousands of phones each day.

Before "erasing" I was able to track obviously the phone was already set as stolen and locked.. it must be using any nearby internet and sending its location.. so do you mean when I "erased" it needs "FindMy" enabled first to share its location even after erasing?

Yes this is true.. its mean TrackingPhone is useless option in iPhone if it is not with you or in your safe hands?

Here.. they use stolen phones for spare parts.. LCD< Battery etc.
