If the Apple Maps voice directions are not working through your car speakers since you got the iPhone 12, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Make sure that your iPhone's audio output is set to your car's speakers. Connect your iPhone to your car's audio system via Bluetooth or cable and ensure that the audio is set to output through the car's speakers. You can do this by going to "Settings" > "Bluetooth" and selecting your car's connection or by using the car's audio controls.
  2. Verify that the volume levels on your iPhone and car's audio system are properly adjusted. Increase the volume on both devices to ensure that the voice directions are audible. Also, check if there are any specific volume controls within the Apple Maps app itself and adjust them accordingly.
  3. Ensure that your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Software Update" to check for any available updates. Keeping your software up to date can address compatibility issues and potentially resolve the problem.
  4. If the issue persists, try unpairing and re-pairing your iPhone with your car's audio system. Remove the existing Bluetooth pairing between the devices and then establish a new connection. Refer to your car's user manual or contact the car manufacturer for specific instructions on how to do this. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car.
  5. Check if there are any CarPlay related Rectrictions set on the Screen Time. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If Content & Privacy Restrictions is on, tap Allowed Apps, and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.
  6. Choose a feature in the link below to see if it's supported in your region. Maps. Standard; Satellite; Directions; Turn-by-Turn Navigation etc...iOS and iPadOS - Feature Availability - Apple

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to contact Apple Support or reach out to your car's manufacturer for further assistance. They can provide additional troubleshooting steps or offer guidance specific to your iPhone model and car's audio system.
