What is the work around for copying and pasting from Books App

The way I have found to copy a phase or paragraph from a book I purchased in the Books App is to take a screen shot of the page. Pull up the screen shot from photos. Copy what you want to save and past it into notes or pages to save it. I know it's a pain, but it works.
