Above notification informs me a scheduled update will automatically install tonight. Same message for the last 3 weeks, but the update does not install. System settings say my software is up to date; I understand that is different than a managed update. My iMac is connected to power and the auto-update setting is on. Please advise. Thanks. Rick

Thanks for this. I tried this and YES, it works! I think it's the answer to this annoying problem .... This is the procedure I followed ...
Now, the annoying message which was coming every day is no longer there and everything seems fine. I did this a few days ago and have used the computer a lot since and there don't seem to be any problems and the message no longer appears.
I forgot to circle back and post an update after waiting a few days. After several attempts at trying what's suggested here, it did eventually seem to work; however, there's been an update to MacOS since as well. I'm fairly certain the suggested fix did resolve the issue, though. It just took 3 or 4 attempts.
This managed update message. Can't see any recent threads on a fix. I do know IT IS NOT anything to do with MAC Operating systems. Third party app. So many that are having this issue, it is truly annoying. About to do a factory reset for resolution. Have no user profiles listed (shouldn't according to threads, personal computer), etc. No Microsoft apps (nor will I ever). Personal computer, began when I returned from the Philippines.
People are often offended when this is recommended, but to get help on this & reduce confusion of symptoms & who we're talking to... it'd be a good idea to start a new thread of your own so we can keep things straight... we'd also need more info from you.:)
I am also having this issue on a personal Mac I have owned since 2017. No updates available and no profiles installed. Been seeing this message since about May 2023.
I am having the same problem. I just changed the setting "Energy" as suggested below. I'll let you know if it works.

FWIW, here's a data point in the other column - the fix didn't work for me.
After deleting the plist file and rebooting yesterday evening, this morning the update notification was back.
Sigh...
Same deal. I deleted the plist file, double-checked my update settings and logged in this morning, and this message was waiting for me again. It's every day.
this used to be the solution to everything, any software acting up, delete the preferences and restart - ahh the memories

I see nobody with that name on my end here. Sorry. Are you talking about what I described by deleting the file using the Finder?
