Display issue: lines on iphone 13 screen

iPhone 13 not under warranty (purchased in Feb 2022 in India). Sudden green, pink and blue horizontal lines followed by similar vertical lines on the screen with overall reduced brightness. Apple support told me to update to iOS 16.5 but the issue resolved for one day and then was back with increased severity. Switching off and restarting the phone helped sometimes but even that has stopped working now. Battery is draining faster due to the issue as well. Was told to go to a service center about 25 kms from my place, only to be told that the center no longer exists in the area. Went to another center where they factory reset my phone. issue resolved just for one day. Diagnostics said that there is no physical damage to the phone and the battery life is ok as well. Apple support does not know the reason for the issue but acknowledged that the issue is happening across several devices but there is no solution for it currently. Are we supposed to wait till a fix is ready?? Or are we to be forced to buy a new phone. In either case, I have been told it will be a paid repair as my phone is out of warranty. The costs are exhorbitant. and the exchange value for the iphone 13 has dropped tremendously. This isn't the customer's fault!
