Visual Studio for Mac mini
I am wondering if others in this community have been able to download and install Microsoft Visual Studio Community version that includes C++ in the IDE?

Visual Studio for Mac only supports .NET development and therefore only supports C#.
See at the bottom of this page:
https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/mac/
You will find only support for C# console apps and Mac Apps with C# and Xamarin.
While I have never done it, you should be able to configure Visual Studio Code to work with third party C++ compilers as it is highly configurable. I know there are ways to configure it for embedded C and C++ development so I would think that console or GUI apps (with appropriate frameworks) should be possible (note: I have only used it for HTML and Javascript web page development).

Were you able to code C++ with either versions of Visual Studio for Mac Mini? When I reviewed them, I could not see any documentation that one code code C++ programs with this version. I could on my old PC using Visual Studio Community version.
I don't know, but here's the Microsoft site:
https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/mac/
It says that Visual Studio 2022 for Mac has native support for the Apple M1 chip.
yeah, I've had both visual studio and visual studio code running on my mac mini they are free downloads from microsofts site
Are you coding using C++ in either one of these two versions?
Thanks so much for sharing that information. It really clarifies it for me.
