Green Dots on MacBook Pro 13-inch M1 2020.

Hi there!

I did not realize that some green dots on my screen until I changed the background to all black. In the middle of the screen, the green dots occur when the screen is black. Otherwise, for instance, while I am writing this post via the white web page, there are no green dots. It is interesting. When I visited the Apple store in Shinjuku, they just took a look and said ''Oh, we can repair it but you have to pay nearly 90.000 Japanese Yen.'' I do believe that this might be a manufactural fault and it should be covered by Apple. I did not buy this Mac to use for only 2 years. I do believe that other people may realize the same issue when they change their background to black and look closer at the screen. Cheers!

Those are stuck pixels and repair is almost impossible. Any repair will be a replacement in reality.

All screens are subject to this and generally manufacture's have a policy concerning the number and placement. If you don't meet the number and placement criteria, say right in the middle where you view the most, there is no warranty coverage.

My suggestion is just live with it. It doesn't affect operations. and how often do you sit there and stare at a black screen?

I have the same issue. Actually, it stopped since December (2022) and came back today. While it may be minor, it's an absolutely new device with a faulty hardware. I though I was probably extremely unlucky, but at least it's not only me with that issue. Apple policy seems to be the same worldwide (I live in Brazil and I got pretty much the same answer: replace the screen for a ridiculous value). Unacceptable, it definitely should be considered manufacturer issue because well, it is. We pay for perfect working devices that are supposed to last more than 3 years. If I wanted to stare to a green dot all day, I'd pay for a refurbished device, not a new one.
