Is there a way to have my iPhone go get the latest 16-generation iOS software and write over the 17-beta iOS that has turned my phone to a steaming pile of hot garbage?

Apple generally advises to install beta on a spare phone......not your everyday day devise.
Since the Public Beta is not even available yet, you must be a Registered Developer. Info about uninstalling is on the Developer Site.

Thank you Bob. All is now well. I’ve left the beta version on my phone and fixed my underlying issue another way.
