transferring downloaded songs from itunes to iphone

How do I put a copy of my library onto my iphone?

iPhone 14, IOS 16.5

I'm using 3rd party app to play music (because native app ... isn't very good)

Not interested in Apple Music, thanks.

Windows, Windows 10

Use iTunes (to copy, not transfer) your library to your phone. See Use iTunes to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support.

If you get stuck, post back with detail about which step causes you a problem and what happens when you try that step.

You must have an Apple Music subscription. When you subscribe to Apple Music, you can access your music library, including your playlists, on any device that has the Apple Music app and signed in with the same Apple ID that you use with your Apple Music subscription.

In iTunes for Windows, Sync Library is called iCloud Music Library. Learn how to turn on iCloud Music Library in iTunes for Windows.

Yes! I have Match because I started using iTunes when the songs had protection. I prefer to use a 3rd party app to play music because I have some hearing loss (veteran) and these apps allow me to equalize the frequencies to hear things better. Unfortunately, these 3rd party apps (using Boom) can't play the protected songs so I subscribed to Match to get unprotected versions. Also, these apps can't play from Apple Music, so that was a no-go.

I purposely opted for the larger storage when I upgraded my phone so that I could download my library but I'm not able to do that now.
