Europe cellular from UK

I have an iwatch Ultra.

I fly to Spain this summer.

I want to leave my iPhone in the apartment, go to the beach or pool, and use my iwatch ultra as cellular.

I live in the UK.

Is this possible, and what UK provider allows this?

The list of networks supporting cellular for Apple Watch is at Apple Watch - Carriers - Apple

I think what you want is possible, but it will depend on cellular networks in both countries supporting relatively recent changes for eSIM. When it was first launched a few years ago eSIM did not support interntional roaming. I have seen recent reports this is no longer the case, and it should be possible to roam on eSIM. However, it is a new development so I suggest you contact your existing network to confirm they have implemented support.

Also be aware it is possible to have multiple eSIM accounts on a device, so this might be a better option to avoid the cost of roaming - one UK account and one Spanish account, switch as required.

If you have an EE contract and account which is still valid, check what your roaming and international charges are. Older accounts may still have pre-Brexit rates for use in Europe as part of your UK charges. They are trying to eliminate these as fast as possible and go back to extortionate roaming costs, but if your account has inherited this scheme they can't take it away until you create a new contract. That is why my EE contract has not been changed after it reached its term and renew/upgrade date.

Many thanks for your reply. I am currently with EE, only for the next 3 weeks as it happens. So I am open to switch to suit my needs.

I am currently waiting for EE to get back my support request.

Like you I have read similar posts.

I tried a few years ago with an iwatch 3 and found it impossible.

I contacted Three about an hour ago and they said it was impossible.

Have you seen a certain UK provider that could help me?

Contacting Spanish Providers seems a bit out of my depth to be honest.
