MacPro 2018 w touch ID

I can not shut down my Mac after force quitting all applications. I think my Touch ID no longer works. I can’t use finder or Apple restart option because I get spinning circle and have to force quit applications again. Is there another way to shutdown?

Can’t power off MacBook Pro from TouchID I gav an MacBook Pro from 2019, A1989. modell have Touch Bar and Touch ID. I can turn on the MBP with Touch ID, it workes to use the Touch ID for authenticate as fingerprint reader. the problem I have is that I can’t turn off/reset the machine with it. I press the key for longer than 20sek doesen’t do anything. Is there any way to fix this issue? Regards D

Touch ID missing from Systems Settings My iMac with macOS Sanoma 14.5 update started asking me for password after I tried to login. I went to system settings and it wasn't allowing me to turn on the Touch ID option. I deleted the finger print and tried to add afresh. Now the Touch ID menu disappeared! I restarted my Mac a few times now. No luck.

From the Terminal.app

from the Terminal.app to shutdown, copy and paste::

sudo shutdown -h now

note: your psswd will not echo on screen type it in anyway, use the enter\return key to proceed
