Audio Mac glitch (2021 iMac macOS Ventura 13.4.1)
I have a very annoying and quite concerning audio glitch with my Mac. Please help if you can.
With the release of No Mans Sky on Mac, I was in a discord call with my friend, we were playing no mans sky multiplayer and his in game mic wasn't working. We had to use discord which is greatly reduced in audio output once a mic demanding application like No Mans Sky pops up. which means I had to set my in game audio really low and have my computer volume way up for me to hear him. We were playing and at one moment a noise played in game and my computer started buzzing a loop of that noise really loudly, even when I closed No Mans Sky. At that moment I thought the application has not fully closed or something, It may have glitched. But no, activity monitor and force quit didn't show any signs of it still running. My headphones were still buzzing really loud so I had to restart my Mac. Once I did, it went away but shortly after, the problem came back. I launched No Mans Sky again, told my friend what had happened and we started playing again. After about 5 minutes of gameplay, the same thing happened so I did what I did last time. This run I decided that I've had enough of No Mans Sky and I'll just talk to my friends, once a video popped up I clicked play and then clicked somewhere away while it was mid play. Usually this would stop the video, but now the last bit of audio was looping on for a second or so, then stops. I did a few tests and found out that this glitch traced to nearly all the applications I've used. Audio just randomly loops for example putting something in the trash. The trashed item audio loops on for about a second, then stops. I was concerned at this point. I later figured out that if I switch my audio output to my iMac speakers and back to my headphones the glitch would be no more. But it would come back after about 3 minutes. I even tried different headphones but after switching devices, after 3 minutes the glitch would happen again. I can't fix this and I'm genuinely concerned for my Mac. Please reach out to me, I really am desperate for a solution. Until then, I will keep trying to fix this. Thank you.
