Virus or Hack

I recently bought a 24" iMac, and retired my old 2013 iMac as it was not supported by Apple. I thought there may have been a virus or hack on the old Mac. Thought that if I turned off wifi and the internet, my grandson could use it to play games that we put onto the computer for him. On my new Mac, the other morning, I opened my email and over 6000 emails started to download. I shut down but it said 10 emails had downloaded. Today my Mac seems to be glitching. I checked my old Mac and found it still on. I shut it off and checked the new machine and it seems to have stopped downloading these emails. But could something get into my new mac and how do I check?

The new Mac seems to be slow, when I click on anything instead of opening it seems to stall and then open. The pages I open seem to jump or blink, while I'm in or on them. I'm sorry I'm not sure how to describe it better but I don't know the lingo for these computers.

Download and run EtreCheck, and share the report to the clipboard. Then open a new reply here, and pres the Additional Text button that looks like a printed page to get a text input box big enough to paste the hardware and software configuration report here, and paste and post the report here.

For the other older Mac, here is how to reset a Mac for another user:
