No sender no subject problem

The mail app on my iPhone 12 Pro was showing a part of an email across an entire screen and I couldn’t clear it so I dejected the app. Be reinstalled it, and now all emails from that time and older show as “no sender no subject.” I found some fixes on here e.g., going into settings and turning email on and off, turning off “fetch” and turning it in again, turning my phone off, deleting the app and trying again; and tried them all but nothing has worked so far. All emails from before I deleted the app show up with no subject no sender. They do show up OK on the yahoo email app; I’ve s as Keats preferred the mail app but I may just have to switch to the other app if I can’t fix this issue.

You may try some of these steps, please chack after each step....


  1. Remove your email account and set it up again. Make sure that all of your emails are there or make sure that your email is saved somewhere other than your device. On your device, go to Settings > Mail, then tap Accounts. Tap the email account that you want to remove. Tap Delete Account. --> If you can't receive email on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch ...
  2. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches. Turn off your iPhone, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
    1. Restart the device. That's it.
    2. Still not solved --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
  3. If the issue persists, you can try resetting all settings on your iPhone. This will not erase your data but will reset all personalized settings to their default values. Go to Settings > General > Transfer & Reset > Reset > Reset All Settings and confirm the action. Note that you will need to reconfigure your settings afterward. All settings—including network settings, the keyboard dictionary, the Home screen layout, location settings, privacy settings, and Apple Pay cards—are removed or reset to their defaults. No data or media are deleted.
    1. Reset All Settings: Return iPhone settings to their defaults - Apple Support:- Return iPhone settings to their defaults
    2. You can return settings to their defaults without erasing your content.
    3. If you want to save your settings, back up your iPhone before returning them to their defaults. For example, if you’re trying to solve a problem but returning settings to their defaults doesn’t help, you might want to restore your previous settings from a backup.
  4. Make sure you have the latest updates installed.
    1. Update Over-the-Air (OTA) —> Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support (IN)
    2. Update using iTunes/Finder —> Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support (IN)


If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it is recommended to reach out to Apple Support or visit an authorized service center for further assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on your device model and iOS version.

OK, about the only thing that I haven’t tried is deleting the account. I don’t have a way of saving all emails as they go back years, if it’s going to delete them on the email server site, that round make me nervous. It would seem it would just be deleting them from the apple site, they should still remain on the AT&T site regardless. I’ll think about it, maybe I’ll try it, or maybe I’ll just use the yahoo app from now on. This wouldn’t be the first apple app that has malfunctioned that I’ve had to stop using.
