iPhone 14 not usable when Bluetooth paired with 2018 Prius

How do I get a decent connection to my 2018 Prius where people can hear me? I have removed and reconnected both my wife's and my iPhone 14. The phone calls are horrible. You can hear the other party clearly, but they cannot hear anything you say. Our older iPhone XR had no such issues. I can't be the only person having these issues. Anyone else?

iPhone 14, iOS 16

I discovered the solution to my problem. My Toyota dealer was no help and Apple Support said that I had an old phone (XR) that worked well with my old car. So now, you have a new phone that doesn't work with older technology in your older car. I felt like asking, "So I bought a new phone and now I have to buy a new car?? Really??!!"

The answer: I found my Prius was behind one firmware update. Installing the update cured the issue.
