Close iTunes and the System Information dialog before running the High Sierra installer. If you still get messages like that, restart the Mac and then run the High Sierra installer.


After you successfully upgrade to High Sierra, if you need to upgrade or reinstall iTunes, you can download it from here:


iTunes - Apple


The version for High Sierra (iTunes 12.8.3) is newer than the versions for SIerra (iTunes 12.8.2) and earlier.

You shouldn't have to uninstall iTunes.


The System Information dialog box is what you get if you choose About This Mac from the Apple () menu, then select the System Report… button. I'd suggest closing all information windows of that sort.


If you've quit everything and there's still something hanging around, restarting the Mac would probably clear it up.
