Default calendar is not working

I'm currently experiencing an issue with my MacBook Pro where calendar invites are opening in Apple Calendar instead of the Microsoft Outlook Calendar, which I have set as my default calendar. I was hoping to seek your assistance and gather any suggestions or insights you may have to resolve this matter.

Here's a brief summary of the problem:

My default calendar on the MacBook Pro is set to Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
Despite this setting, whenever I open any calendar invite, it opens up in Apple Calendar instead of Outlook Calendar.

I have attempted a few troubleshooting steps on my own, but the issue persists. I believe there might be a configuration or compatibility issue causing this behavior. I'm hoping that someone in the community might have encountered a similar situation or has the expertise to provide some guidance.

Hi Dhaval2226,

You'll want to make sure that both "Default Calendar app" and "Default Calendar" are set to outlook in those settings. If they are, we suggest restarting in safe mode to see if the issue persists. You can find steps for using safe mode here: Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

We'd recommend reviewing the information in this article to help confirm your Calendar settings are set up as expected: Change General settings in Calendar on Mac

If that doesn't help, you may want to provide some additional details about the situation.

How are the Calendar invites being received? Are they arriving via email?

Hi WinsC1,

Thank you for your response. Yes, I did make sure that my calendar settings are the same as instructed in the article and it is still not opening the calender invite files directly to the default Outlook app.

Most of my calender invites arrive via email. Please do not hesitate to ask me if you have any queries or need any further information.
