It's a bit tedious, but it can be done. The main thing is Outlook does not like a concatenated .vcf file. The cards have to be singles.

  1. Create a new folder on your desktop (it's just the easiest location for this) and open it. Set the folder kind of off to one side of the screen.
  2. Open Contacts in the Applications folder.
  3. Drag and drop each contact name - one at a time - to the new folder on the desktop.
  4. Open Outlook and click on the contacts icon at the bottom left.
  5. Go back to the folder and click on any .vcf file, then Command+A to select all of them.
  6. Drag and drop the .vcf files onto the word Contacts at the top left of Outlook's interface. You'll know you're in the correct position when the button is highlighted and gets a dashed line around it.
  7. A box will appear confirming you want to import xxxx number of contacts.

I should add that this pertains to the free version of Outlook as the Import and Export menu items are grayed out, and likely aren't active until the user pays the subscription fee. So this method is required to get them over from Mail to Outlook.

For some reason, I could have sworn when I first installed the free version of Outlook 365, it picked up my Contacts entires all by itself. But after clearing all of the entries to test for my answer, I couldn't get it to automatically grab those again. Not even by clicking the Sync button. So I had to look for a different way to get them in.
