Ireland's AirPods Pro Service Program for Sound Issues, but for UK AirPods Pro

Hello,

My AirPods Pro 1st gen are making the famous crackling sound.

Thus I went in a Select store in Dublin (Authorized Apple Reseller), and asked for a replacement, as my AirPods Pro are less than 3 years old.

They told me that as my AirPods Pro were bought in UK, they couldn't take it for the replacement program, even though this is a worldwide Apple program (AirPods Pro Service Program for Sound Issues - Apple Support).

My question is:

Is it normal ? Did the store just not want to replace my AirPods Pro ? Or is the replacement program really depends of the purchase region ?

Thank you for your help !

Hi GlassHamster,

The Apple Warranty terms for AirPods outlined at Legal - Accessory Warranty English states the following:

"Apple may restrict warranty service for hardware products to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device. Apple may restrict warranty service for hardware products purchased in the EEA or Switzerland to the EEA and Switzerland."

That applies to service offered directly by Apple. As you visited an authorized service provider, they may have their own restrictions that they abide by. You can check with a local Apple Store or contact Apple Support to verify support options under that program you can use.

Regards.
