Iphone Express Pay Not Working With MTA (OMNY) Subway NYC

I see a lot of people have had this issue and I dealt with it for a couple months. Tried all the suggestions including adding my card to the OMNY network via their website, but nothing worked. So frustrating.

What worked was deleting all cards and the wallet app completely. Reinstalled the wallet app and added the cards from scratch (so that a new pathway could be created?).

That worked. I sail through the subway turnstiles again like a boss.

Glad to hear you found a solution to the iPhone Express Pay issue with MTA (OMNY) subway in NYC! Deleting and reinstalling the Wallet app seems to have done the trick for you. Thanks for sharing your workaround!

So ive done the delete and re-add thing several times and its never fails, card not accepted (still deducts the fare from my apple card balance btw. The issue is clearly OMNY cause it doesn’t take Capital One either. So annoying to be running to a train and get blocked by the turnstile because my “express transit” doesn't work.

This just happened to me, too! Why on earth would there be a limit? (My turnstile said “ride limit exceeded”)
