How do I search for photos in. Photos library that I added from an email?

How do I access the entire Photos library from within a draft email in order to select images to attach? I am writing an email to someone and want to attach images. If I click the button for Photos in the top right of the draft message, I get a small seemingly random selection of Photos rather than the entire library which is what I want to look at. It also shows a list of Albums, all of which are unhelpful since I don't use them and every single one was simply generated by the OS. On an iPhone, I get to see all my images. On my MBP this seems to be impossible unless I go to Photos first, export the ones I want to send and then attach them. Very un-Apple like! Am I missing something really obvious or is it really this broken?

Hello wodehousefanusa,

To my knowledge, there is no way of searching your photos by what email they were added / downloaded by.

If you click on the Search icon on iPhone OR select the search field in the top right on Mac, you can search by the device that took the picture (i.e. "iPhone 14 Pro Max" or "iPhone 8").
