KERNEL PANIC on MacMini M1 & M2 Pro watchdog timeout: no checkins from watchdogd in 92 seconds (12431 total checkins since monitoring last enabled)

We recently upgraded our MacMinis (M1 & M2 Pro) to Venture OS and we are seeing frequent server panics

(~ every 48 hours)

Context - We have 16 Android devices connected through the hub to MacMini for testing. We are seeing these panics happen when automation tests are triggered on the devices but there is no such pattern. The USB hub is powered separately. Has anyone faced this issue?

We do not see this issue on Mac Mini with Intel chip.

Do you have any kernel for extensions loading, maybe modern ones.

They used to have to show up as loaded in the panic log to be causal, but with the new system, I don’t know.

Have you tried only iOS or only Android?

The last loaded kext is the filesystem driver. It may have something to do with a connected storage device.

Yes that's right. We have set the USB debugging mode as "File Transfer" but we are not really transferring any files. We just want the MacMini to recognize the device.

I will change the debugging mode on the devices and monitor the system. Thanks.

Hi Barney,

Thanks for the suggestion but we still are seeing the crashes after changing the default USB configuration to charging. We have a reduced load now on the MacMini (6 Android devices and 6 iOS devices). Is there anything else we can do?
