VIP & other regular mail repeatedly going to Junk

OS: Ventura 13.0.1

Apple Mail: v:16

Firstly, mail rules extremely rarely work at all, but over the past month or so, VIP and regular emails are repeatedly ending up in Junk mail instead.

I've followed the instructions to move to Inbox, or apply a rule directy to an email in Junk, and it works, but every new mail that cames through still ends up in Junk.

These are emails from various regular senders.

It's just got utterly ridiculous at this point.

Bad enough one has to fumble around in preferences to even access Mail Rules in 2023!

Please advise.

See the article If junk mail filters aren’t working in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

  • If the problem persists, click Reset in Junk Mail settings to reset the junk mail database to its original information. Resetting the database removes everything Mail has learned from you about what is junk or not junk, so you need to help Mail identify junk mail again.
