The easiest method to exchange files between your iPad and Windows PC would be to install iCloud for Windows (recommended) and/or iTunes for Windows. You can install and use both on the PC - as they will happily coexist - and provide considerable flexibility in how you move/share/transfer/manage data, photos and other documents between iPad and Apple devices.

A further option might be to simply install and use Microsoft Word and other Apps on your iPad. You may already have a MS 365 licence…


All the Microsoft Apps for iPad can be found in the Apple App Store.


Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and others are all available from the Apple App Store. All require iOS/iPadOS13 or later.

Instead of attempting to convert Microsoft Word files to Notes - and in so doing losing all the flexibility and rich formatting of the original document - why not simply import the Word document directly Apple Pages?


The Pages App provides most (if not all) of the same capabilities and features - and is free to download and use with all of your Apple devices:
