Why are the text messages I send appear to come from my iCloud address

Hello Tahtah28,
If your iMessages are sending through your Apple ID email address instead of the phone number, that would mean you currently have it set to send from the Apple ID.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, and set the "Start new conversations from" section to your phone number.
