recognize my ipod classic

I have an ipod Classic and an ipod Touch. I want my itunes to recognize both devices so I can begin using them again, as they both have music I downloaded 10 years ago before apple created the cloud. Help! Thanks!

Use iTunes to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer - Apple Support

Note that this is a mostly one-way synchronization from the computer to the iPod. Synchronization will replace whatever's on the iPod with the new selection from the computer's iTunes Library (wiping out songs that are on the iPod, but not on the computer).

The only music that synchronization might upload from an iPod to the computer's iTunes Library would be music purchased from the iTunes Store on an iPod Touch.

iTunes - Apple

If you are running macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later, iTunes will be gone, replaced by separate applications. Finder took over the synchronization functions previously handled by iTunes.
