On my 14 Pro Max running 16.5.1. The Contact for my wife is configured for a specific text tone: Circles. But when she texts, I hear the Swoosh. I’ve restarted to no avail. How do I fix this?
Delete and add the contact again. That will surely solve the issue.
Also, check if you have duplicate contacts added for your Wife using another email account.
You may have stored the same contacts in multiple email accounts.
Either remove the contacts from the rarely used email account or disable contacts from the rarely used mail account in the iOS Mail app.
Unlike some Android devices, contacts are neither stored locally on an iPhone nor in SIM. They are synced to an email account that you had Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other
