No sound while connecting HDMI cable to phone

no voice while watching movie from iPhone to tv via HDMI cable was working fine

There are a few reasons why you might not be getting sound when you connect your iPhone to a TV using an HDMI cable. Here are a few things to check:


  • Make sure that the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the iPhone and the TV. Check the connections at both ends of the cable to make sure that they are properly seated.
  • Make sure that the TV is set to the correct input. The HDMI input that you are using may not be the one that is currently selected. Connect iPhone to a display with a cable
  • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches. Turn off your iPhone, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
    1. Restart the device. That's it.
    2. Still not solved --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support
  • Try using a different HDMI cable. If you have another HDMI cable, try using that to see if it makes a difference.


If you have tried all of the above and you are still not getting sound, you may need to contact Apple Support for help.


Here are some additional troubleshooting tips that you can try:


  • Make sure that the TV and iPhone are both HDCP compliant. HDCP is a digital rights management technology that is used to protect copyrighted content. If the TV or iPhone is not HDCP compliant, you may not be able to get sound.
  • Make sure that the app that you are using to watch the movie supports HDMI output. Not all apps support HDMI output, so you may need to try a different app.
