MY SOUND JUST STOPPED WORKING

Please help. Was listening to Spotify today and sound stopped working. Thought it was Spotify for a while and then checked Apple Help - appears to be my speakers on the laptop. Any ideas short of having to take it in?

And if I have coverage until August this year with Apple Support, are there any fees involved?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 12.6

command-option-p-r at startup. Hold until the screen blinks or there is a sound.

Make sure the Mac's Bluetooth is turned off in the settings, and disconnect any wireless speakers/headphones.

Make sure the headphone port has nothing inside of it.

Check the Audio Midi Setup utility in Applications-> Utilities to verify your audio out isn't at higher than 44.1kHz (44100 hZ) or 16 bit, unless you are plugged into sound that is more than two channels (stereo).
