Photo metadata time and location

Hi, Can anyone please let me know how to prove if the time and location of photo taken on iphone is not adjusted?

I know there is a option to adjust time and location but if someone wants to prove that the time and location of photo is original not modified how can we do that?

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16

Hello qalid291,

Understood. Anyone can control the info on their photos. So nobody could ever know if what they said is the truth, or what they edited. See here: Edit photos and videos on iPhone - Apple Support

"Change the date, time, or location

You can change the date, time, and location that’s stored within the photo or video’s metadata information. See See photo and video information.

  1. Open the photo or video, then tap the More Options button.
  2. Tap Adjust Date & Time or Adjust Location.
  3. Enter the new information, then tap Adjust.

To change the date, time, or location of a batch of photos, tap Select, tap the thumbnails you want to change, then follow the steps above.

  • You can revert a photo or video to its original date, time, or location. Tap the More Options button, tap Adjust Date & Time or Adjust Location, then tap Revert."

If you have questions, you might try the revert option, but if it was exported with that info, it would be only that info, and nothing left to revert back to.

Thanks.

Hey there qalid291,

We understand you're wondering how to verify if the date and time on a photo has been modified. We'd be happy to provide information about this.

You can use the option to adjust the date and time on a photo, however, if the photo is checked through a computer, the original date and time would appear there.

We hope this answers your question.

Kind regards.
