FaceTime has gone missing on my Late-2013 iMac 27 running macOS Catalina. Any thoughts on how to recover it?

Probably, it has only disappeared from the Dock. Go to Finder, Application folder and if you can find it there, drag it to the dock again
The FaceTime app is in your Mac's Applications folder and cannot be deleted through normal means.
Is it really gone?
Since the FaceTime app spontaneously disappeared from your iPhone as well as your Mac, I think you will need to contact Apple to straighten things out. Use the Official Apple Support link at the bottom of these pages.
I got on to Apple Support as suggested. They found that I had given priority to Skype. Changing that to FaceTime brought it back onto the iMac sidebar, where I’ll keep it.
Haven’t yet been able to get a response from anyone I’ve called, but that’s the easier part.
Will keep trying.
Thank you all for your help. :)
My guess is you will have to reinstall.
You're welcome. You can't just reinstall Facetime however. You have to reinstall macOS.
Is FaceTime available in your country?
Wireless carrier support and features for iPhone in the United States and Canada - Apple Support:
"FaceTime isn't available in all countries or regions."
FaceTime is not in ‘Applications’ on the iMac.
It was at one time.
Now first place I looked when friends tried to make a FaceTime call to me, and failed.
Nor is it on my iPhone 8.
...
Something broke?
Yes. Thank you for asking.
I plan to start all over again tomorrow, tackling the iPhone 8.
Will go straight to Apple support, as the phone is behaving erratically in other areas like downloading photos to the iMac.
I’ve had enough for the day.
:(
I’m in London, UK. Have had FaceTime in the past, made calls to Spain, France, USA, and Italy.
Not in Applications. First place i looked. It was where I used to open FaceTime …
So, no progress yet …
Thank you. I’ll attempt to re-install FaceTime, as you suggest.
Will let you know how that works out.
I'm confused. If FaceTime wasn't in the Applications folder I don't see how it could be in the Finder sidebar. But if it works, good. :)
Thanks for the update. What about your iPhone though?
