Airplay mirroring is sideways in landscape mode.

When casting to several different LG tv’s, I can not show landscape movies or feeds - it shows up as a portrait mode picture turned sideways, only using the center 1/3 of the tv. How can I display landscape content on a TV using airplay?

Samsung smart TV and AirPlay My wife is trying to watch streaming video from an App she subscribes to Using AirPlay on a Samsung smart TV using an Iphone X. It displays OK but it looks like the resolution has a problem. It looks like everything is zoomed in cutting off the top and the bottom of the picture. It is hard to see what they are displaying if the camera is not pointing directly at the item. The TV is a Samsung QN75Q65FN. I have tried every setting I can find on the Samsung and the Iphone. The Samsung AirPLay version is 17.24.6. Any help would be appreciated.

Airplay will not fast forward or rewind a streaming video? Attempted many times to use Airplay with a Samsumg 8 Smart TV. Samsung 8 allows only Airplay from an Apple device, not screen mirroring. I've found a streaming video will play for 30 or 40 minutes, then lose the connection to the TV. (This has happened repeatedly. I've checked all the settings on the TV, iphone, and Airplay. They are all set correctly. There was one time out of maybe a dozen where Airplay played the entire hour of the video on the Samsung TV, so I know it is possible.) When I connect again, Airplay will not fast forward to the place in the video where it broke off. Despite displaying controls for fast forward, is Airplay simply unable to do this? Or how can I fix it?

Hi wbortz,

This would be dependent on if the application supports other orientations. If the application you're using doesn't support landscape via AirPlay, it would not be possible to do. For more information see Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror the screen of your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
