My wife just bought a new iPhone 13 a week ago, ringtone is hard to hear even ringtone sound and haptics is set to the loudest setting. Notification sounds r louder than ringtone. Why? Is the iPhone defective or just a software issue?

Problem: iPhone rings very quietly.
Checked attention aware, it was off.
The ping for SMS and other notifications is really loud whilst the phone rings very quietly. I can usually hear it in the next room, now it’s so quiet I don’t notice it ringing when it’s in front of me.
I’ve tried restarting.
I’m on iOS 17.2.1 and all the sliders and buttons are set to their loudest setting.

Thank you, my sound and haptics was on zero too after ios update 17.4.1.
Settings / Face ID and Attentions/ Turn off Attention Aware Features. I tried everything to fix this problem but found this fix online and it cured the problem.

This helped. The setting in Sounds and Haptics was at the lowest n i never did it, must be some update. It is very frustrating, i missed important calls
