On my mother’s iPhone 11 and iPad Air 2 everything has disappeared from the app, like it’s never been set up. Her home has been shared with me, and all devices and automations are present on my phone. Her Apple TV 4K acts as a hub. All of the automations still work fine.

If you are missing content from the Home app, you can try some basic troubleshooting to make sure it is set up correctly as seen in Add a smart home accessory to the Home app:
