How to open new windows on Studio Display instead of Macbook?

Reading through search results it seems like Mission Control might have something to do with it, but I cannot figure out how to get new windows to open up on the Studio display instead of the Macbook. It's especially annoying when editing and you need to open multiple windows (i.e. images in Photoshop), and they all open on the Macbook screen and have to all be dragged over to the Studio screen. I close apps on the Studio display, but that's not where they open. (I close them when they're not maximized, in case that was the problem.) I'm running Monterey on a 2019 16" Macbook Pro.

Well, that was easy. When I went to System Preferences>Displays>Display settings>Us as:, you can change the Studio display to the Main display instead of Extended display.

I initially hadn't done that because I thought that if my Studio display was the Main display, the dock would show up on that and I didn't want to clutter my screen. However, it does not, as I have the dock set to the right, my Macbook is to the right of the Studio display, and the dock is out of the way. Now everything that I want to open on the Studio display does.
