How can I set up an sbcglobal.net email on this ipad

My iPad won’t let me add my sbcglobal.net email address so I can not get my emails. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Many email providers now require the use of App Specific Passwords when accessing mail over IMAP or POP3. If this applies to your email account, you will need to generate a unique password for your iPad email account - that will differ from your normal Account Password. As examples - AOL, Yahoo, Google, Microsoft all use App Specific Passwords when using anything other than their own email client Apps.

Be aware that many ISPs use one of the above (sometimes rebranded) Mail Providers - many using Yahoo.

If you need to generate an App Specific Password, you’ll need to log-in to your Mail Providers account management webpage - using a web browser - and generate the Password from the appropriate account security page.

More information about AOL’s App Specific Passwords can be found here:

For Yahoo, more information can be found here:

I have an @ameritech.net email account and it works via Yahoo. Since AT&T was put back together they have been managing their email through Yahoo. Try selecting Yahoo from the menu, put in your @sbcglobal.net email and password and see if that works. It does for me. When I need to change my password I have to do it through Yahoo too.
