Is [shift-fn-e] a universal Character Viewer shortcut?

Does anyone know why [shift-fn-e] invokes the Character Viewer in macOS 12.6.5?

Is this for all computers, or is it the result of some program I’ve installed. I noticed that app shorcuts appear inside System Preferences as being inside a shared pool, and can be invoked from programs other then themselves.

I think that is the default chosen by Apple for that MacOS version, shown in Edit > Emoji & Symbols. You can change it if you want in system preferences > keyboard > shortcuts > app shortcuts, or use the Fn key alone in system preferences > keyboard > keyboard.

Yep! Thar she blows! I hit that **** combo 40% of the time I do an emacs-command CTRL-e to go (end-of-line).

Anyone know how to assign a combo that contains the FN key so I can get rid of this thing by reassigning it to do a nothing action? The FN is not allowed in the shortcut maker inside System Preferences > Keyboard.

Or is there another way to suppress this behavior?
