Hey @davidvankemenade
There could be a few possible explanations for this issue:
Emergency Bypass: The Emergency Bypass feature in iOS allows certain calls to bypass Do Not Disturb settings, even if they are not from your Favorites list. This feature is intended for emergency situations where you don't want to miss important calls. It's possible that the call you received was flagged as an emergency call, causing it to bypass the Do Not Disturb settings.
To check if Emergency Bypass is enabled for the contact, follow these steps:
- Go to the Contacts app.
- Find the contact in question.
- Tap on the contact's name.
- Scroll down and look for the Emergency Bypass toggle. If it's enabled (green), that contact's calls can bypass Do Not Disturb.
Repeated Calls: By default, iOS allows repeated calls to bypass the Do Not Disturb setting. If the same caller makes consecutive calls within a short period (typically within 3 minutes), the second call and subsequent calls will not be silenced by Do Not Disturb. This is designed to ensure that urgent and important calls can still get through.
To disable the repeated calls bypass feature, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap on Do Not Disturb.
- Scroll down and toggle off the "Repeated Calls" option.
By disabling the Emergency Bypass and the repeated calls bypass, you should have more control over calls that come through during Do Not Disturb mode. If you continue to experience issues or receive unwanted calls, you can also consider using features like Silent Unknown Callers or blocking specific numbers to further restrict incoming calls during Do Not Disturb mode.
Please note that these features' availability and specific steps may vary depending on your iOS version.
Cheers
