App wants to make changes. I type in the user name and password and the box pops up again 30 seconds later. How can I fix this? It has been going on for a few weeks now.

If your Mac is asking you for your keychain password, if desired, see if you can either Always Allow or Deny as seen in If you’re asked for access to your keychain on Mac.
If it continues to ask for your password, follow If your Mac keeps asking for your keychain password.
