Apple Numbers

I'm still trying to get use to Numbers as an Excel fan (which I no longer have). Can anyone provide a simple walk through as to how I can separate a whole load of information (text) contained in just 1 column into other columns?

That is to say one word per column.

Here is what I'm trying to separate:

/volume1/music/NAS La Cie 2 iTunes/Eric Serra/Bandidas (Flac)/09 El Pueblo En La Caverna.m4a

Thanks...

Yes, the Text to Columns wizard in Excel is good!

In Numbers you can split the string by formula like this:

In B2, filled or copied right:

=TEXTBETWEEN($A2&"/","/","/",COLUMN()−1)

Use ; instead of , in the formula if your region uses , as the decimal separator.

Thanks SG. I have followed your instructions and it works.

That said it's disappointing that Apple have not found a simple ways to show or provide users with an obvious function to help do this in the toolbar or Sidebar.

I for one could not figure it out although I could in Excel.

Hey ho.

Much appreciated :)
