When replacing the Pencil tip, ensure that the plastic pencil tip is screwed firmly (i.e., finger tight) into the body of the Apple Pencil; even a slightly loosened tip will cause issues. When correctly positioned, there should be a tiny gap (around the full circumference - of about the thickness of a sheet of paper) between the tip and the body of the Pencil.

Be aware that if the Pencil’s transducer (the metal component that is covered by the replaceable Pencil tip) that interacts with the iPad screen has been damaged, the Pencil may not work.

As for whether the replacement pencil tips sourced from Amazon are the cause of issues, it is impossible to offer definitive comment.

OEM Pencil Tips are available from Apple:

Hello The_Jersey_Crafter,

While we would have no way of knowing if the replacement Apple Pencil tips you purchased were certified to work with your pencil or not, we can suggest that you purchase replacements directly from Apple to make sure there is guaranteed compatibility. This page may help: Apple Pencil Tips - 4 pack - Apple.

We hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist with anything else at all. Take care.
