iphone SE3 overheating after update

Ok so I first noticed a few weeks ago that my phone was acting really slow after uninstalling apps, and playing with various settings I realize that it’s getting too hot which is causing everything to slow down. It seems like this occurred right about the time it updated to the newest iOS. I’ve tried turning various settings on and off I tried uninstalling the app that says are using loss of power. I’ve even tried tinkering with telling her to use LTE instead of 5G, and it doesn’t seem to have any affect. It is just constantly hot even if I take the case off which is causing which seems to be causing the whole thing to slow down and churning through the battery within 1 to 2 hours (~3hrs in standby in low power mode)

yeah, I’ve also tried restarting the phone and closing all apps and found that it takes about a minute to shut down. Otherwise no impact though

Hello Notabrick,

This page can assist with providing some helpful information regarding the device warming up, and a few things to look out for: If your iPhone or iPad gets too hot or too cold - Apple Support

There are a few reasons it could be expected to warm up, which the page notes as the following:

Your device might get warm
You might notice that your device feels warmer when you:
• Set up your device the first time
• Restore from a backup
• Wirelessly charge your device
• Use graphics-intensive or processor-intensive apps, games, or features, including augmented-reality apps
• Stream high-quality video
These conditions are normal, and your device will return to a regular temperature when the process is complete or when you finish your activity. If your device doesn't display a temperature warning, you can keep using your device.

Avoid these conditions and activities because they might change the performance of your device:
• Leaving your device in a car on a hot day.
• Leaving your device in direct sunlight for an extended period of time.
• Using certain features in hot conditions or direct sunlight for an extended period of time, such as GPS tracking or navigation in a car, playing a graphics-intensive game, or using augmented-reality apps.
