I have what I believe is iBook G4. It is in very good condition. I am the original owner. I have forgotten my password. What is the best way to destroy my personal information? I've thought of taking out the hard drive and smashing it with a hammer. Anybody have any better idea?
Do you have the system install/restore disks that came with your computer? That may allow eraseignt eh interna drive.
Lacking that, yes, a hammer is always an option, as is driving a couple of 1/4-inch/6mm holes through the drive into platter.
Either way, be sure to wear safety glasses.
